During 2025, Dr. Yunmei Liu served as a member of the Department Chair Review Committee for Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Louisville. The committee supported the department chair’s five-year review, an opportunity for faculty and other university stakeholders to contribute to the review of departmental leadership.

As part of this service, Dr. Liu worked with faculty colleagues to review and refine the faculty survey. A July 29 working meeting focused on preparing survey questions to gather faculty input for the review process.

This committee service contributed to faculty governance within the J. B. Speed School of Engineering. The university’s Redbook, Section 3.3.5 D, describes the role of review committees in the periodic assessment of department chairs and directors.
