The MINDxAI Lab is pleased to share that Dr. Yunmei Liu received a $10,000 Research Experiences for Undergraduates supplement from the National Science Foundation to support the lab’s ongoing CMMI project on cognitive-emotional state assessment and real-time automation intervention design for advanced driving systems.
The supplement will support one undergraduate researcher during Summer and Fall 2026. The student will gain hands-on experience in human-centered AI, simulation-based experimentation, multimodal data processing, and transportation safety research while contributing to the continued development of the project’s experimental workflows.
The undergraduate researcher will primarily assist with developing and refining virtual driving scenarios that represent safety-critical conditions and preparing multimodal experimental datasets for downstream modeling. These activities will help strengthen the realism, quality, and efficiency of the project’s simulation and data-analysis pipelines.
