On June 25, 2026, high school students explored several sides of industrial and systems engineering during Think Like an Engineer: The Ultimate Systems Challenge Camp at the University of Louisville. The one-day summer camp included a morning visit to the MINDxAI Lab.

A Morning at the Driving Simulator

Dr. Yunmei Liu and the lab team hosted the Driving Simulator activity, welcoming students into the lab's research environment. Gathered around the simulator, students encountered a hands-on example of how engineering can study the interaction between people and technology. The visit connected a familiar everyday activity—driving—with the research tools used to explore human factors in transportation.

A Full Day of Engineering Exploration

Beyond MINDxAI's session, the camp's morning program included human–AI interaction. Afternoon activities turned to logistics and research lab tours. Together, these experiences introduced students to the breadth of ISE, with the driving simulator serving as one stop in a day of practical engineering exploration.
